Andy Stott is like a party that you weren’t invited too; his music is dark deep, and very far away. You press your ear to the wall and can hear the sound of throbbing beats and wailing horns, the party turning into something dark and sinister a sort of post apocalyptic rave to the grave. Its like Stott tried to murder dance music, that he succeeded, and these are the charred remains. Today’s track, Dark Details might just be the closest thing to a standard song on Stott’s short album Passed Me By. As you could probably guess this is no dancehall standard, you’re not going to hear it at weddings or even at a party. No, Passed Me By is for people who really know what its title is about.
