I’m sure many of you have heard of Lizzy Grant, more commonly known as Lana Del Rey. She was an overnight YouTube sensation, who was able to catapult herself into the spotlight after one single release. However, this is by no means her first time at the rodeo (She had already released a self titled album and another ep)
The self proclaimed 'gangsta Nancy Sinatra' is able to flawlessly merge several genres including hip, hop, jazz and pop. Her voice is also just as versatile, changing from playful and poppy girl to deep and somber woman. Her lyrics also have a similar range of being serious and emotional to lighthearted.
Her new album Born To Die drops at the end of the month, and I don’t think I have to tell you I’m very excited. The debut single form this album Video Games is posted above, and if this single is anything like the rest of the album it’s safe to say she won’t be disappointing me.
