Recently heard that the Beach Boys are reuniting and thought what better than a modern take on a classic for today’s track of the moment. Now, covering a Beach Boys song is ballsy, but covering what many consider to be the best Beach Boys song, what many consider to be the best song period on your debut EP no less, that takes serious moxy. The track of course is God Only Knows, and when it comes to how Brian Wilson wrote this song the title describes it best. The band covering it is Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. who I am not a huge fan of (they have a lot of talent but lack songsmanship), but they do a nice job of covering this song, which if done poorly would have received serious backlash.
