Hello all! Over the weekend I picked up a few new tunes one being the Jamie xx production of Gil Scott Heron’s Im new here. The album is very good and Jamie does a nice job of honoring revolutionary Heron who lost his life to his struggles with heroin not soon before We’re New Here was released. Check out this track, My Cloud from the album. It is one of my favorites from it and the music Jamie xx uses elevates Heron’s voice so that when he asks “Will you join me on my cloud” his offer seems sincere.
