Track of the Moment- Rill Rill by Sleigh Bells

Rill Rill is easily the best song off of Sleigh Bells first album Treats. And a treat it is indeed to hear their signature sound blasted over a Parliament Funkadelic sample. The beat is infectious, and the singer and guitarist do a good job of honoring that sample tastefully. And while music is a key component of the Sleigh Bell sound, the lyrics shine through pretty well on this track. The line “wonder what your boyfriend thinks about your braces, what about them, im all about them” rings particularly well. Also the ending, the single sounding of a bell is particularly satisfying and gives the tune a very finished vibe. I like Sleigh Bells, they do a fine job of navigating the narrow road between pop and rock and indie.
