Some people ask me where the hell do I find some of this
music? The answer is the
Internet. I have no doubt in my
mind that some of the acts we here on the blog write about would have a tough
time in a “world wide webless world” not for lack of talent, but lack of accessibility. Just like the internet gave the world
blogs that show pictures of Kim Jong-Il looking at things, Bon Iver (tongue in cheek) erotic fan fiction, and just post the same picture of Dave Coulier every day, we also have a literally limitless ability to share music. Everyone Wins!
If
I had to describe Blanche Blanche Blanche using only words and not onomonopias
I would have to say low-fi, no wave, pop, or “not pop”. Clearly there are elements of pop in
this song, but with very disjointed song structure. During the guitar break in the middle the most obvious example. The male voice is literally still going
when the breakdown happens. It’s so catchy, but I’m literally
not sure why, and I’m sure as hell going to overanalyze a good thing.
At least two of the people are in the band, I promise, but their website doesn't care to specify |
The
music video is also a trip and a half, and if the last two paragraphs haven’t convinced
you (or if you haven’t been to distracted by the tumbler links) check it
out. I literally can’t decipher
their website either, so if anyone wants to figure that out let me know. You can stream the whole album on soundcloud if you want more. In conclusion, these guys are awesome
(sorry if that didn’t get across right away)
