Track of the Moment 4- Oh Me by Meat Puppets

“Alright boys lets take it way out there now”. That has always been the line that stuck with me the most from the second Meat Puppets album. Appearing at the end of the song “Oh Me” this line from Curt Kirkwood to the rest of the band isn’t as much an order as it is him pointing out the obvious of what is going to happen next in the song.   And take it way out there they do. Meat Puppets II is easily the best punk country psychedelic fusion album ever crafted, made only more impressive by the fact that it stands out among such a crowded field. And Oh Me has to the be the most psychedelic of tracks on those albums which culminates in one of the trippiest guitar solos that can’t be found on a Grateful Dead record which makes it stand out. Purely unique was the Meat Puppets sound, not much else needs to be said.
