Triangle records have done a very good job at signing dark ambient sort of acts Evian Christ there newest signing fits right in. Acts like OoOoOO (pronounced Oh, but I always like to imagine it being said by James Brown) and Balam Acab which are both sometimes considered part of the witch house sub genre of electronic music are both signed to Triangle, they both have slow dark sounds. At the onset of February, Triangle debuted another act the previously mentioned Evian Christ and along with it a free eight song EP. The EP reminds me most of Clams Casino’s instrumental mix tape (atmospheric with straightforward beats) and Andy Stott’s most recent release Passed Me By (very dark minimalist/post-dubstep). Evian Christ falls somewhere inbetween those two. He is especially good at cutting up vocal samples to really move the music along and creating dissonance through repetition, especially on todays track of the moment, whereas Clams (who has also released music through Triangle) and Stott generally just keeps vocal lines for texture. Anyways you can pick up the EPfor free over at Triangles website, and it is definitely worth checking out.
