While avant-garde jazz music isn’t something I normally
would listen to, but after giving The Cherry Thing, a collaboration between
Neneh Cherry and the three man jazz outfit The Thing, you might just start
seeing a little bit more jazz around here on the blog. The album is a
collection of songs, most of which are covers, that feature Cherry’s sultry
voice being backed by strange horns and basses of all manner. The strongest song here is her cover of Suicide's Dream Baby Dream, and while I think I have already made the Black Tambourines cover of that same song a track of the moment, I dont particularly care. So here you go.
