Track of the Moment Nuclear Family by Green Day

(Disclaimer: One of the conditions for me writing for the blog may or may not have been I couldn’t write about Green Day…o well)
The opening rift of this LP told me two things: this is definitely a Green Day album, and it’s definitely not going to be another rock opera…at least I hope not.  Since the year 2001 I wished we could go back.  I REALLY like quite a few Green Day releases.  I was raised on Dookie, and Nimrod, and Insomniac and Warning get quite a lot of play on my Ipod.  Green Day will always been the kings of this pile of crap that is essentially the rest of this genre of punk-pop.  Of course there a few exceptions, but for the most part these guys were the alpha and omaga for this kind of music.
A few tracks into this album, and I knew that even though we don’t get to go back, for the most part I’m not going to have to have to lay low until this three album hullabaloo blows over.  A few tracks later…this album got bumped from an album article to just about the track.
I guess Green Day will always be different from the band I grew up with.  They seem to kind of appeal to a different crowd, and are by no means as heavy, they Tweet and are on The Voice.  O well, they can’t take the old albums away from me, so I might as well take anything I can get.  For instance, this opening track that gives you kind of a glimpse back at how it used to be...but that's kind of a stretch.
