Dear reader. I am sorry that it has been a week since my last post, but college has kept me away from my precious, precious blog. As im writing this you should understand the context: Jeopardy! has just been taken off the air for a night due to some type of debate over the upcoming election. And if you are reading this, than I assume that you too have hit the internet looking for something to do other than Jeopardy! Anyway on the request of one of my floor mates down the hall, I think Ill write about a certain baseball player that I got to see recently.
Let me set the scene. It was a Friday night, and game two of the first Philly playoffs series against the Reds had just concluded. Instead of the usual customary victory milkshakes, a few of the guys from the floor decided to head down to Buckely Field to throw around a Frisbee. An hour or so passed since the end of the game when something happened. To all of our amazement, non other than Bronson Arroyo, the pitcher of the Cincinnati Reds (or at least someone who looked suspiciously like the pitcher of the Cincinnati Reds) strolled right by us. It all made sense. The game was in Philly, and the Reds had suffered a tough loss. Arroyo did look a little defeated, and to his defense who wouldn’t after such a tough loss?
So your sitting in front of your computer, your pretty bummed out about Jeopardy! and your thinking, why am I reading this on a guitar blog. Well the answer is simple. BRONSON ARROYO PLAYS GUITAR. Yeah really. Im serious. Apparently he wasn’t satisfied with his day job. Anyway he performs covers of popular artists such as Pearl Jam, and Alice In Chains. He released an album entitled “Covering the Bases” which is ironic because of the baseball that he sometimes plays. Arroyo has even taught many of his teammates to play guitar and has played with various other baseballers.
