Track of the Moment: Take a Long Line by The Angels

Sometimes things fall through the cracks on the Internet.  For whatever reason something has enough information to have a wiki page or a blog entry, but obscure enough that there’s virtually nothing else on it.  Media that falls in that sweet spot is interesting because the story of how you find it is always pretty interesting.  I found out about these guys through some sort of Jack Daniel’s mix cd that I, for the life of me, couldn’t find an example of online.
The Angels, aka Angel City, aka The Angels From Angel City, aka The Original Angels Band, aka The Angels (again) are an Austrian rock band.  The decision to change your name a few times doesn't make them easy to research.  According to their wikipidia page, are “a genre-busting, chart topping rock band that formed in Adelaide, Australia in 1974.”    I’m not sure about that, but this song is pretty good.
This is from their second album during their first name and line up (Number 64 in the book “100 Best Australian Albums.”)  Believe it or not they still makes some music up to this year with their most recent release Take it to the Street.  It’s very AC/DC like with a bit of a grimier pub-rock feel, but you can be the judge of that.  Definitely something to check out if you’re itching for some new, old, Australian, Classic Rock.  Hey maybe some of you are…
